Maricopa Broadband customers gain access to City government channel

Maricopa20Earlier this week, Maricopa Broadband helped increase the City of Maricopa’s ability to reach its citizens by completing a wireless connection from City Hall to their head-end. This allows the City to stream its government channel, Maricopa20, live on the Maricopa Broadband network.

“In an instant, we are now reaching an additional 2,800+ cable subscribers who can now benefit from the City’s informational bulletin board including local and national news, weather updates, live Council meetings and replay, as well as Maricopa20 programming,” said City media specialist Ruben Garcia. To watch Maricopa20, Maricopa Broadband subscribers can now simply tune to channel 20.

In January, PTC, LLC, a subsidiary of Prime Time Communications, entered into a management agreement with Maricopa Broadband and immediately sat down to evaluate priorities over the following 90 days. “We determined that the video product was incomplete, so our first goal was not only to bring back prior programming that had been discontinued but to also add new offerings, such as the City channel,” commented Bryon Wentzlaff of PTC, LLC.

Wentzlaff added that “We are excited about being proactive and demonstrating an interest in being involved with the City and the community.” In addition to adding the City channel to its lineup, Comcast channels like A&E will be added, and voice services are also being launched within the next few weeks.

Maricopa20 can also be viewed on Orbitel Communications channel 20, and via streaming video from their website.
