Maricopa Republican Club Golf Tournament “a huge success”

On Saturday, May 16th, the Maricopa Republican Club hosted its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at The Duke at Rancho El Dorado. To just say it was a success would oversimplify the great day of golf and fun that was had by all that attended.

“The Maricopa Republican Club, due to the leadership of Marty and Brenda Hermanson and with the help of its many volunteers and the staff at The Duke, had a very successful event and will be able to significantly assist two local organizations. We are very thankful to everyone that helped make this event such an incredible success. We look forward to making the event even more successful next year” stated Mike Robertson, the vice president of the Maricopa Republican Club.

This year’s opening ceremonies were kicked off with a color guard presentation, singing of the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance lead by Pinal County’s new Sheriff, Paul Babeu. Following the patriotic start to the outing, golfers hit the tee boxes for a shotgun start at 8:00 am.

After all the rounds of golf were completed, a post-tournament banquet was held for the players, which included a fantastic lunch by The Duke, a raffle and a silent auction featuring over fifty items including many fantastic items donated by local and national merchants. One lucky winner even walked off with a Sam Adam’s golf gift package worth $500.
