Firefighters on scene at natural gas leak
This morning at approximately 11:25 a.m., Maricopa Fire Department was alerted to a natural gas leak on Taft, south of McDavid.
The line was punctured during underground construction, and six homes in the immediate area have been evacuated.
“There is no immediate danger,” stated Assistant Fire Chief Wade Brannon. “Everyone in the area is safe.”
Maricopa Fire Department, Goodyear Fire Department and Maricopa Police Department are on scene and are awaiting the arrival of the Gila River Fire Department and Southwest Gas.
