MARICOPA, Ariz. – The body of a man found dead in a rural irrigation canal outside Maricopa has been identified.
On 8/9/2012 Pinal County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Peters & Nall and N Ralston Rd, west of Maricopa after an employee with the Maricopa?Stanfield Irrigation District discovered the body of a man floating in the water near a canal gate.
Investigators on the scene of where a man was found floating in a rural irrigation canal outside Maricopa on 8/9/2012.
The body of Todd Kibler, 43, of Maricopa was pulled from the water and transported to the medical examiners office where he was positively identified the following day.
According to Kibler’s family, he was last seen Sunday, 8/5/2012, at a friends home in Maricopa. Kibler’s family indicated he would commonly go to the irrigation canal to swim.
Kibler’s vehicle was discovered upstream, approximately a quarter mile from where his body was found. It is believed he went into the water on Sunday evening and never made it out.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the drowning.
The investigation is ongoing.

This family knew nothing till I found this article ON THE INTERNET. All their attempt to find out id was totally ignored. The car found belonged to his mother so they suspected the body was him, but contrary to all articled, they had no information till I found this the 14. They were saying body had been in water in the beginning, he had only been missing 7 days when this article was published. Someone needs to get their info straight and stop trying to CYA. This family is devastated at the way this was handled and I have a feeling it is not over. (my opinion only)
