Latest poll shows mixed opinion of governor, slight drop for president

Although a majority of Arizona voters describe themselves as very (45 percent) or generally (33 percent) satisfied with the health insurance they have, most (81 percent) believe that some type of health care reform is needed, according to a new statewide Cronkite/Eight poll. The poll, conducted Sept. 24-27, found that 50 percent of Arizona voters want major changes, 31 percent think minor changes are needed, 12 percent believe no changes are needed and 7 percent have no opinion on the topic.

Prescription drug disposal event to be held at Founder’s Day
The Pinal County Attorney’s Office along with the City of Maricopa Police Department would like to see all unused, left over or expired prescription drugs out of people’s cabinets and away from our children and our ground water.
In order the protect the public, the Pinal County Attorney’s Office and the City of Maricopa will be holding a Prescription Drug Turn-in during Maricopa’s Founders Day Event.
The public is invited to bring their left over prescription drugs to the Pinal County Attorney’s Booth at Pacana Park on Saturday, October 10th, between 2:00 and 8:00 pm. Maricopa police officers will be standing by to collect the drugs, which will then be destroyed in a safe and legal manner.

Chairman Snider holding Maricopa office hours on Tuesday, October 6th
Pinal County Board of Supervisors Chairman David Snider will once again hold his monthly Maricopa office hours on Tuesday, October 6th, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Chairman Snider will be available for face-to-face interactions with constituents in the interim Maricopa City Hall located at 45145 West Madison Avenue. If you would like to schedule a time to visit during his office hours in Maricopa, you can call his office at 836-0003 – otherwise it is first-come, first-served.
