Spring has come to Maricopa, and with it, fun times for members of the community!
Maricopa’s Community of Hope Church will be hosting its 7th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 7th. The event takes place at Pacana Park, located at 19000 North Porter Road, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Egg hunts will take place every 15 to 20 minutes for children from 1 year-old to 5th graders. Along with the egg hunts, children will be able to play games, have fun in the bounce houses, visit a petting zoo, and have their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.
All of this is “absolutely free” of charge and is open to the entire community of Maricopa. Donations of non perishable items for the F.O.R. Maricopa food bank will be taken.

“As the largest venue of its kind in Maricopa, this grand opening is not just for our students, staff and parents, but for the entire Maricopa community,” said MHS Principal June Celaya. “The space is open for public use, in addition to performances being held by schools throughout the District, and we’re inviting the community to celebrate the opening of this state of the art facility.”
The recently completed center, which is a focal point on the MHS campus, will be showcasing everything from performance art and oil paintings to graphic design and music from MHS students. Guests are invited to tour the space beginning at 4:30 pm, which will be followed by performances, including by Native American Tribal Dancers, and a ribbon cutting at 6:30 pm. Refreshments will also be provided by MHS culinary students.
